The mission of the School of Education is the preparation of teachers for Georgia schools. Through cooperative efforts with other schools and departments of the University, the School of Education offers Teacher Education programs for Special Education, Reading and Early Childhood Education, Middle Grades and Secondary Education and Health and Human Performance. The School of Education provides leadership in professional developing and extension programs for teachers within the area served by the University; and collaborates with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, school systems, professional organizations, and other groups in evaluating and improving education programs and services.
